About Central China Goldfields plc
Central China Goldfields plc brings together a team with many years of technical, corporate and cross cultural management experience including decades of living and working in China. Combining our expertise with our network of contacts and understanding of Chinese business culture, we believe we are ideally placed to become one of the premier mining and exploration companies operating in China.
The Company was incorporated on 3 November 2004 and listed its shares on the London Stock Exchange’s AIM market on 30 March 2005. At the time of Admission to AIM, Central China Goldfields had only its Snow Mountain Gold Project located in Sichuan Province as the initial property.
Since listing on AIM, much progress has been made. We now have several joint ventures with Chinese partners, and are actively working in some of the most potentially productive yet under-explored regions in the country.
Vision and Group Strategy
The Company’s principal objective is to increase shareholder value by exploring for, acquiring and developing gold and other mineral prospects in the People’s Republic of China.
The vision of the Company is to become the premier mining and exploration company in China.
The Directors have set out a three pronged strategy to achieve this:
- Organic growth through the utilisation of current geological concepts together with efficient and effective modern exploration technology
- Development growth by expansion and modernisation of undervalued operating mines
- Mergers and Acquisitions
The Company will continuously review its portfolio of properties to ensure that properties with the best potential for adding value can be advanced and assets with the greatest risk or limited long term commercial potential will be divested.
The Company also takes its corporate and social responsibilities seriously. Everywhere the Company works we set up health and safety training programmes, and ensure that staff working on site have protective clothing and are fully briefed in how to keep themselves and their colleagues safe. Where we work at altitudes we have developed standard operating procedures to ensure the safety of all involved. We invest in our staff, training our people in the use of specialist geological and accounting software. We also provide regular English language training for all our staff. It is the Company’s goal work in harmony with the local communities in which we operate. We do this by working closely with local Government officials and community leaders, and by supporting local schools.
The Company believes in transparency and the continuous disclosure of results. It regularly updates investors on the Company’s progress through news releases and via the website.
